Digital animation– Infographics Research 2

The two videos below highlight the huge effect technology has on students and teenagers. Highlight a number of things such as how they use it what they think of it and how it is changing their world and how they live life. I thought this was a very insight video which would how contribution to my animation. 

I did some more research on infographic to examine a bit more about the different styles and techniques used in infographics. usually  there is a narrator in the Infographic guiding the view and convey the information over. However this is not always the case some may just have music and some have no sound which is does not really make the most engaging Infographic.

The pinterest infographic only uses music but does so very effectly this carried the story and the view through the animation the colour is bubblly and vibrant the  to the ma

With Infographics being used such prominently as a medium for conveying information over to the public this, has led to an Increasingly large trend of businesses and oganization using the form.

The value of having a good infographic is very rewarding for instance if you have a good infographic promoting your company or organization it has the chance of being blogged, trumblr and so fourth about creating a lot of buzz and expanding its audience. incidentally this happens to be what I am doing with some of the best infographics I have found on the web.

Digital animation- Infographics

Okay, so first things first, watch the video (below). I think it is a very well crafted Infographic. Being both visual engaging and informative. I found it to clearly explain the general aspects of Data Visualization (Infographics). Covering the importance of Infographics and why they are so important in today's present society and can have a lasting impact on the viewer. 



Watched it, good, Okay so you now have a general view of what Infographics are, if you did not so before. This was my task. For the second part of my Digital animation module I was task with creating an Infographic.

For this project brief we were shown a range of different Infographics and had the choice of picking one from which we would then base are animation on. Topics ranged from water to capitalism to traffic. However I was not really inspired by any of the ones on offer so. Fortunately we were also given the choice of finding an existing Infographic  from which we could base are animation on. This was good for me, because I knew exactly what I wanted to do... FOOTBALL! (not American football).

I decided to change my idea  from football to technology the decision to change was due to me finding a lot of tech base infographics in particular the one below which I like. This was the Infographic I choose to use as Inspiration.

Business of Animation - Kino10

Kino 10 Ident was the last brief I chose to do.  Kino 10 was looking for an Ident between 5-20 seconds highlighting there events and what they do show casing short films.

  

I looked at what was on the website and immediately what stood out to me was the vast array of posters they had highlighting there various events. I thought I could use this to promote them.

 

Business of Animation - Street Food Month

Street Food Month  was the second  animation I chose to do. For this I had two ideas. Food truck race is my first idea for Street Food Month. I am pleased with the out come and think it works well with the sound.

This was an early version and this was an early version of my Street Food Month food truck race.

As I wanted to use the trucks again I had another idea. This idea was a simpler idea. This is the final version of my second idea which I think came out quite well.

This was an early version I made I have made quite a couple of changes in my final version.

Research and Inspiration

For my Street food Month I  looked into the food network channel I found one of their shows, the great food truck race. This gave me the idea to do a race where the trucks are racing into the city for Street food month.

In the show the teams are usually consisting you three members 

so I decided it would be best to only have three trucks.

These are the designs of the trucks  I created from front side and back. The hotdog costume character was something also I had planed to use but  decided not to use it.

Business of Animation - Sugar Rush Sundays Part 2

This is the Final version I have choose to go with, I decided to make some changes to the end title sequence. As I wanted it to stand out more look more sugary and have a bigger impact on screen.

Final version 

I am please with the final outcome and think that it does work well with the sound. It was challenging and I did encountered a few problems but i worked through it and it come out well.

Development 

I created the characters in illustrator and really got use to using it.

I created the roundabout first in illustrator but saw that 2d was not going to work so I deiced to do it in 3d using Google sketch up. I had not used Sketch up recently but it was the best method for me to create it fast and closely to my reference.

I created this animatic out of the storyboards I made. This was very helpful to me so I could  get the timing right.

Business of Animation - Sugar Rush Sundays

Initially add gone for Italian month first this was because it was 15 seconds and I thought the brief was  pretty clear with what they wanted. However I found ideas for it to not being the most creative i.e Italian flag on a background with food and items appearing I wanted a strong theme for it. So I moved away of focus on Sugar Rush Sundays.

Sugar Rush Sundays being 5 seconds is a short and snappy the audio itself is very action packed with a lot of  happen in it.

Sugar Rush Sundays

The idea behind my sugar rush Sundays is to show lots of confectionery sweets and treats playing around in a  playground the centerpiece of this is a roundabout which is where most of the sweets are gathered here at the roundabout will begin to accelerate shooting one to sweets off propelling into the camera.

 These were some motion graphics and TV idea that inspired the sort of style I want my animation to be like.

These are some really cool animated ident for cartoon network.
